About Dr. Kim: 26 Years of Structural Expertise

"Restoring Motion, Optimizing Performance."

Dr. Kim is a veteran practitioner in integrative chiropractic care, bringing over 26 years of clinical experience to the treatment of animals. As a Certified Animal Chiropractor who is also a licensed Human Chiropractor, she possesses a rare understanding of the biomechanical relationship between the animal and the owner—a critical factor particularly in equestrian sports and working dog teams.

Unlike providers who focus solely on symptoms, Dr. Kim’s approach is rooted in Structural Neurology and Functional Mobility. She views the body as an interconnected system, where a restriction in the spine can lead to gait abnormalities, behavioral issues, or chronic pain.

By combining precise chiropractic adjustments with advanced modalities like Cold Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation), Dr. Kim helps animals—from beloved family pets to competitive athletes—unlock their body’s innate ability to heal and move freely.

Our Patient Reviews

After visiting Dr. Kim for adjustments and cold laser treatments, I was amazed when my dog, who previously couldn't even lift his head, suddenly began getting up during our ride home. This transformation was nothing short of miraculous. Our consistent attendance to each session played a crucial role, and now he's back to walking and moving around normally.

FAQS

How do I know if my animal needs chiropractic care?

Indications for chiropractic care may include: difficulty or refusal to turn, raise or lower their head; pain when grooming, petting or daily movements; stiffness or spasm; refusing or resisting leads, jumps or obstacles; shortened strides; decreased performance; stumbling/tripping; changes in behavior.

How much does it cost?

Chiropractic adjustments for dogs and cats $50

Chiropractic adjustments for horses $100

Cold laser Therapy alone $50 or if in addition to an adjustment $10

Q: Why does my horse refuse the lead when I have lower back pain?

A: It is often a case of "Bio-Mechanical Mirroring." As a rider, your pelvis is your primary communication tool. When you are suffering from lower back pain or stiffness, your body naturally guards that area, often causing your pelvis to rotate or tilt to one side to avoid discomfort.

Because your horse is sensitive to the slightest shift in your weight (your seat bones), a rotated pelvis sends conflicting signals. You might be asking for a left lead with your legs, but your hips might be blocking the horse's upward lift or weighting the wrong side due to your own misalignment.

The horse isn't refusing to be difficult; they are physically restricted by the imbalance in the saddle. In our practice, we often find that "behavioral" issues or lead refusals resolve quickly once both the rider’s and the horse’s structural alignments are addressed. We look at the team as a single athletic unit.

Q: How does Cold Laser Therapy help my animal recover?

A: Cold Laser Therapy (technically known as Photobiomodulation) provides a non-invasive way to manage pain and accelerate healing without medication. It works by introducing specific wavelengths of light into the tissue, which stimulates the cells to produce more energy (ATP). This boost in cellular energy "fast-tracks" the body's natural repair process.

We often use it to address:

Soft Tissue Injuries: Sprains, strains, and tendonitis (common in agility dogs and performance horses).

Chronic Pain: Managing inflammation from arthritis or hip dysplasia.

Post-Activity Recovery: Reducing soreness after a competition or heavy work.

Wound Healing: Speeding up the closure of surface wounds or post-surgical sites.

Because it is painless and quiet, it is an excellent option for animals that are anxious or sensitive to touch. It can be used as a standalone treatment or combined with chiropractic adjustments to help muscles relax, allowing the adjustment to hold longer.
